Summary and background
Icon Foundation is accepting proposals for creating an OAuth / OIDC - style login flow for the Icon Ecosystem. Icon Foundation has been in operation since 2017 and has grown to include thousands of users. Icon account usage is crucial for the growth and sustenance of the Icon Ecosystem.
This request for proposal has been published to gather bids for the Icon account usage portion of our Icon Interoperability Incentivization plan. Please submit proposals by November 24, 2022.
Guidelines for bidders
We will accept bids for this project until 5 p.m. November 24, 2022. All subcontracting intentions must be clearly represented therein. All documents must be prepared and signed by those authorized to do so. All costs must be listed in ICX or bnUSD. Further terms are subject to development pending selection of a bid.
Project purpose and scope
The purpose of the Icon OAuth / OIDC flow project is to provide a developer-friendly and user-friendly template and implementation of one the authorization/authentication process using Icon accounts. The project will include the following:
- Standard for OAuth / OIDC flow using Icon accounts
- Including IIP with diagrams and explanations
- Library for executing requested flow
- Must be well-tested
- Sample or actual implementation of requested flow in a dApp environment
The contractor will be building the tool and marketing it to the community. Icon Foundation will also negotiate a warranty term in the event of necessary maintenance and bug fixes within a reasonable time.
Proposal timeline and project deadline
Upon contract award, work must be completed within one month.
Budget requirements
Each proposal should include the following for consideration:
- Cost of materials
- Cost of labor
- Overhead
- Total project cost

Icon Foundation will evaluate proposals based on the following criteria:
- Overall cost
- Company experience
- References
- Proposal professionalism and quality
